Tune in for FREE on Tuesday, August 16th @ 5pm!

Special interest? More like a special opportunity...

We’ve all had autistic clients/students that are highly interested in a single subject (or even an object or type of object). From a neurotypical perspective, these special interests might be hard to understand, and they may even seem to get in the way of therapy. But once you understand them, they actually present a unique opportunity for you as a therapist.

Autistic SLP, Sam Rowntree, is joining us to give you insight into special interests from an autistic perspective, as well as to teach you how to use these interests to increase engagement with autistic kids and build a deeper relationship.

(Free to attend! We go LIVE Tuesday, August 16th @ 5:00 pm PST)

Who is Sam Rowntree?

Sam Rowntree is an autistic SLP from Australia.

She's passionate about helping other autistic people live their best lives by giving them the tools to live in society, and also by helping neurotypicals in society to understand and accept autistic individuals for who they are.

She has personal experience with special interests from an autistic perspective, and she's been able to use her understanding of her clients' special interests to build strong relationships.

In this episode, she'll share with you how she does it — and how you can do it too!

Sam loves the Korean pop band BTS, and recently took a trip to Vegas to see them in concert.

It’s not an “obsession”. It’s your wide-open bridge to developing connection and building relationships with your autistic kids.
